ABOUT US

Judy Schenk Chambers has always been an animal lover.  When living in England in the early 1980’s she trained and competed in the horse world doing 3-day Eventing.  She purchased her first Labrador Retriever, a chocolate male there.  After returning to the USA, Judy became more and more involved in dogs and less in the horses (the ground seemed to be getting harder when she unexpectedly dismounted!).

Over the years that followed, Ghoststone has produced Show Champion Labrador Retrievers in all three colors, as well as Labrador Specialty winners in all three colors.  Most of the Ghoststone dogs have field Working Certificates, and several have Obedience titles.

Ghoststone is a small kennel with seven to nine dogs in residence.  We usually breed only one or two litters per year.  All of the Ghoststone dogs are house dogs (although not all at the same time, Scott is quick to add!).  Not only do we enjoy working and training our dogs, but our favorite times are our evenings spent sitting in front of the wood stove with our dogs lying at our feet.

In addition to Rose City Labrador Retriever Club activities, Judy enjoys the competition in the show ring, and educating people new to the Labrador Retriever breed and judging.  Scott helps with hospitality at the club’s Specialty Show, and provides manual labor at club events and at home.
